Newly diagnosed course and copaxone

Hey =) Im going to a newly diagnosed course in north wales next month and dont know what to expect. Could anyone explain what happens? Also has anyone been on copaxone and what did you think of it? x
@janep

Hi Lowbo, I went to a newly diagnosed course in Birmingham a few years ago. It was run by the MS nursing team from my hospital and was essentially a series of presentations by various professionals (ie nurses, physios, OTs etc) looking at various aspects of ms and the various treatments and services available. There was also quite a big section at the beginning about MS and the nervous system. I'd been diagnosed over a year by the time I went to the course so a lot of it I had found out for myself. It can be quite a stressful and emotional day as there's a lot of information, not all of it amazingly jolly (I mean who really wants to be told about incontinence training at 28?!) but it was a good opportunity to meet other MSers locally and share stories. I was on copaxone for 2 years, I switched to Avonex in Jan this year as I was getting dimpling on my legs and stomach from the injections. Aside from my body reacting like a complete baby, I found copaxone good, I was symptom free and it's a nice small needle plus there are no real side effects other than injection site reactions. Good luck with it all, I hope you find the course useful xx
