Black and MS

Is there anybody out there that is black and was diagnosed? I am black and it took ppl forever to diagnose me because of the whole 'black ppl don't get MS' thing. The only person on my side was my neurologist but oh the drama! Just wondering..

It took me about a year to get officially diagnosed with ms because I'm Chinese. I had no idea it was MS until I finally got a gp to refer me to hospital. Then I had looots of tests to make sure it was MS because chinese ppl don't get ms...

My lady is black (quarter Ghanaian, quarter caucasian and half Jamaican) and had MS since she was 13 (she is now 28). She had to fight to get diagnosed initially, but she was eventually.
