To walk quickly or to work on my balance

I've seen quite a few neuro physiotherapists. I've often asked what is more of a priority; to hold on to the rails of a treadmill and try walking at a decent pace, (this is supposed to encourage the messages to travel quicker) or to walk on a treadmill at a very slow pace and try to not touch the si...

Balance Issues

I've got balance issues (might be the cause of vertigo perhaps) and I'm going to see the neuro-physio but is there anything in the mean time I might be able to do to possibly improve it? Already looking at building up my core muscles.

Finding the right balance

Hi, this is my first post here. I have RRMS and my symptoms have subsided well, which I am grateful for, and I know I should be happy about that. I started with symptoms on 12.1.13 and was diagnosed on 28.1.13 after tests, MRI and LP. My consultant at the time was OK, her Registrar was brilliant....

Have you found your balance?

When I was first diagnosed I went, arguably, a little crazy. But I am convinced that is what a lot of people do when handed a diagnosis that scares the crap out of them. It took me months and months to see that I was spending WAY too much money and enrolled in WAY too many activities. I was tire...

Do you love cycling but find balance a problem?

I feel like my MS has got worse and I cannot walk very far anymore, but I do not want to use a wheelchair as I want to be upright for as long as possible. If I could ride my bike then I could travel further and would not feel so restricted. I am too unstable on my two wheel bike but I am convinced...

Balance Dogs for help MS

I found an article on the use of service dogs trained to assist MS people with things like help getting up, turning lights on, getting things like a pen off the floor and the best thing was the dog can be trained to pick up on when a person is getting fatigued and nudge you over to a chair. This alo...
