RideLondon is a unique 100-mile challenge that gives you the chance to cycle the same course used by the elite athletes at the London 2012 Olympics.
The RideLondon route starts at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, passing through the City of London and out into the North Downs of Surrey, where riders face the steep incline of Leith Hill and the notorious hairpins of Box Hill. Heading back into London, the dramatic last leg takes riders along the Embankment, past Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square for a photo finish on The Mall.
This is London’s only closed-road cycle event and it’s always massively oversubscribed, so why not ride for Shift.ms? We have RideLondon charity places to fill in 2018 and we’d love to have your support.
Why fundraise for Shift.ms?
“When I was first diagnosed, I was scared and felt alone, as I didn’t know anyone else who had MS, and knew very little about it. Shift.ms gave me somewhere to connect with other people, and to helped to show me that I’m not the only one going through these things.” – Melissa, MSer
Around 100 people are diagnosed with MS every week. Most people are diagnosed in their 20s and 30s, a time of key life decisions about relationships, family and careers.
Shift.ms aims to reach people with MS (MSers) as soon as possible after diagnosis so they can receive support to adapt to a life with MS. It costs around £25 for us to reach someone newly diagnosed with MS, your fundraising will help us reach more people when they need need us most.
“It’s cool to see a lot of different people with the same thing – you feel much less isolated, you realise other people are doing amazing things and it’s not like life ends now.” – Polly, MSer
