Switching from Tysabri to Ocrevus

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the process switching from Tysabri, after being on it for 7 years, to Ocrevus?

Do I have to come off Ty for a certain period of time?

Does Ty need to have left my system before switching?

I will be asking my specialist soon but am sat here at home and thought I’d just ask on here.

Any info for my question will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

@dvtrv , there is a lot of information about “Tysabri rebound” during the “washout” period, i.e. the time you need to wait before starting another treatment.

There’s a recent article here about reducing this washout period, in connection with a switch to Gilenya. Although there would be similar considerations for a change to Ocrevus:-

@dvtrv

Did you manage to find out what you needed to?

If you can share what you have learnt about switching it would be very appreciated. I’m keen to know as potential for it to happen for me at some stage

@londonlad

Good point I’m normally good at sharing these things on forums so others can also find answers, apologies,

I was told 8 weeks which happens the time between current infusion I have got with Tysabri.
