Newly diagnosed.

Hi there,

I was diagnosed with r/r MS Tuesday of last week. Waiting on an MRI for my spine as large lesion at base of my cerebral cortex. I’ve been refered to see a specialist MS nurse to start my treatment of a daily injection of interferon.
Does anyone have any experience with waiting times for this type of appointment?

Hi @brickbybooks.

The best thing to do would be to try and telephone this MS Nurse Specialist and ask the question. You’ll probably be leaving a message, so it should just be a quick question, necessitating a quick answer.

Unless you don’t know their phone number? Or even their name?

I understand that all this MS stuff must be pretty new to you. But, there are a range of Disease Modifying Treatments (DMTs) available now as either injectables, tablets or infusions. I would hope that these were discussed with you, or was it an arbitrary decision?

There’s a lot more information here:-
