New medication

Hello lovely people,
I’ve recently had a relapse after 3 years of being on rebif. My neurologist has given me two options of changing my meds to either Gilenya or tecfidera. I’m really unsure which is best, could anyone send me your experience of these meds.

Thank you
Stako x

Hi @stacko I’ve been on Tecfidera for just over a year. Was on Beta-Interferon for 23 years so taking 2 tablets a day instead of sticking a big needle in once a week is a joy! Used to have 2/3 relapses a year, nothing for 14 months so I reckon it’s doing a good job🥊😜

@stacko , your Neuro is still being conservative with your treatment. There are better Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs) available now.

Perhaps they are waiting for you to acquire more damage before they are considered.

Do your research and challenge them. The following may help :-

Well I was thinking the same, seeing MS nurse in May so will ask. There’s a med recently approved for rrms that was considered for ppms and that seems to have a high success rate??

Hi @stacko, you’re probably thinking about Ocrevus which is fairly new in the U.K. Your neuro might have suggested those two to you based on factors that us Shifters don’t know about, so maybe check if that’s so. I’ve been on Tec for two years with no I’ll effects, and it’s dead easy to take. Good luck with your quest!

look at all the information, the benefits then the side effects, I decided to say no, I take CBD oil and live within my limitations

I am becoming aware that there really are no correct answers as each of us are different and MS can effect us in many different ways, stay upbeat and make sure you smile
