Managed to get appointment for tomorrow morning with neuro at 8.30am thats the only time he can see me as his clinic full why do they always have locum neuro taking clinics and not someone who is a permanent neuro. Going to ask him about my Gabapentin as I had a good sleep but body all stiff and back killing me but am so paniky can’t relax with pain in my back always feel breathless even when I’m stood still weight now 6st 13lbs and I do not feel like eating. Had back xray last night just keep thinking the worst.

Hope you’re going to ask him about DMT options as well. Don’t be fobbed off. xx

OK, but remember that the sooner you start treatment, the better the likelihood of it making a difference (proven). It’s also clear that some neuros drag their feet – probably because they’re not MS specialists and aren’t up to speed with all the new developments. You might even find the locum is better informed and more prepared to get things moving. Good luck tomorrow! xx

@cameron think I’m coming down with a cold just been absotley shattered went to town with my daughter to buy some things for uni felt breathless and shattered when I got back then had a sleep just went to Tesco with her 5 mins walking and breathless again so will mention it also to my neuro and if he says its not connected will go to walk in centre attached to the hospital and get checked over while there if I don’t call an ambulance before then lol

Thanks

All worrying, but you’re going to get it sorted out. You’re right – even a simple thing like a cold can affect MS. And when you add stress and anxiety to the mix…..! All the best, anyway, let us know how you get on xx Kay

@Stumber, @cameron returned from my appointment with locum he assessed me everything fine. Going to give me Triptafan (think he said this he’s spanish) but just looked this up its an antidepressant and something for my fatigue as and he wants to see me in 2 months time after my MRI scab in October just need to start reducing gabapentin don’t know how long it will take him to get my letter to the GP and he giving me the meds. Not happy with the antidpressant if it is that that he is going to give me already take an antidepressant at night that I’v been on for a long time.

As for breathlessness everything fine lungs, chest clear heart ok put it down to anxiety and fatigue the doc I saw in the urgent care centre.

@lina, there is a fair amount of info on this drug here:- http://www.nhs.uk/medicine-guides/pages/selectorshow.aspx?medicine=Tryptophan

Yes, it does seem to be an anti-depressant, doesn’t it? But, we all need a little help from time to time when contending with the related issues of MS.

Hopefully, your GP will review the Neuro’s suggested treatment in line with what you’re already taking.

@Stumber thanks really don’t want to take another anti=depressant quite with what I have been on a long time. Next dosage of Gabapentin going break the capsules and put the powder into a glass with water and drink it just think the actual capsule is making a lot of the gurgling in my stomach when I went to have a lie down all I could hear with the rubbling and gurgling of my stomach. Yes hopfully GP might not recommend it as he wanted to go on prozac then reduced my original anti-depressant but at the time MS nurse said it was’nt a good idea to start something new.

Thanks

Lina
