Lemtrada, not available

Just off the phone to the MS nurse, who informed me that the licence for lemtrada has been pulled and is not available, at present unless you are already on it, or fit a very small criteria. She says it’s due to death rates and liver complications. I have to chose mother treatment. Xx

Hi @mo-jo yes I was thinking about Lemtrada as my first treatment and then I saw info on Saturday from the MS Research Blog at Bart’s, so I guess I will have to have Ocrevus as that is the only other treatment I have been offered! Such a minefield!

I have opted for Cladribine. Should be here within 2 weeks. Xx MS nurse called me back and all my bloods from last week are back and good to go. Xx

Where has @seanachi comment gone?!

I was going to reply – isn’t it just?!

He made a very relevant comment…..

Anyway – Lemtrada …..

Is this the same drug that was touted as being ‘the nearest thing to a cure, without calling it a cure”!
And funnily enough 900% more expensive than when it was Campath?

I wonder what @traceyd thoughts are?

And isn’t Ocrevus it’s sister drug ? So what are the ramifications of that?
