Lemtrada infusions

Quick question, has any of you lovely people been sent to kings college hospital in London for your infusions? Do they let you stay overnight ? Or is it like a day surgery? My consultant said that I’d be there if I choose lemtrada because no hospital closer to home can do them. I don’t really like the idea of spending 5 nights in a bnb/hotel when I’m gonna be feeling like crap . Thankyou , much love 💕

@jade770 , contact the Patients Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital. They’d let you know what they offer :-

Hello!

I was treated at Kings (I’m 5 months post R2). There are a few of us on here (and more on the Le. Facebook group). At Kings they treat you as an inpatient – so it’s a five night hospital stay for R1 and three nights for R2.

They’ve just had a new ward refurbed for, amongst others, is Lemmies which is all very civilised.

Staff are lovely (especially the MS specialist team) and food is better than you’d expect. Parking is a bit of a bggr for visitors but it’s right next to Denmark Hill mainline station.

WiFi is, I think, reasonable – but I brought and used a dongle as Netflix was key to my boredom avoidance strategy.

Happy to answer questions!

K

Thankyou , both of you . I’m definitely going to bring a dongle I’ve got a lot of Star trek episodes to rewatch , that should keep me occupied 🤞🏻 Xx

Hi, I was treated at Kings in November 🙂 the stuff are really lovely, very careful and they know what they are doing! The ward the brand new, clean and quiet. My experience was really good to be honest so in my opinion you have nothing to worry about x all the best!

@vivy0511 thankyou , i did hear it’s had a bit of a revamp which is always nice , I’m still debating which level of treatment I want but I think I’ve pretty much decided on lemtrada now . Thankyou for your help xx
