Lemtrada

Is anyone on the site recently considering taking Lemtrada for MS? I understand that in the US you need to try two other drugs before being allowed to try Lemtrada which seems crazy to me that I have to try a drug like Tysabri that has over 75 known PML deaths and Lemtrada has only 1 that is not directly related to Lemtrada. Would anyone whose doctor is willing to prescribe Lemtrada share the marketing materials provided by Sanofi (company selling Lemtrada) to me so I can review and perhaps show my doctors?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @stoussi

Go the following sites and search on Lemtrada, you should find most of what you need.

I’m curious for an update since you posted a while ago. Did you talk with your neuro again about lemtrada? In the US, we also need to try a few therapies before switching. But the interferons (rebif, plegridy and betaseron) plus copaxone have zero PML deaths because there is no risk of it with those drugs. If that is your concern about tysabri, could you have tried two of those drugs before switching to lemtrada?
