Insurances

Hey guys,
I’m recently diagnosed and was wondering if I would have to let my life insurance know about this or declare this for holiday insurance?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @gemben
Yes you do need to inform your life insurance as a non disclosure will invalidate any future claims. You may find this increases your premiums or changes you t’s & c’s .
Same goes for holiday insurance but do shop around; some “speclialist “insurers are extortionate. I used a supermarket insurance as I get discount with their loyalty scheme, cost about £20 more & only a few extra questions online. Hope this helps.

Hi @rea, thank you for your advice. I’ll be sure to let them know.
It’s good to hear there not too expensive.

@gemben , You can let your Life Insurance company know by all means, but they should not increase your premiums, as the proposal and t & c’s were accepted prior to the MS coming into play.

Any new insurance would require disclosure of your diagnosis to ensure the cover is not invalidated. So, shopping around is essential.
