I gave it all I had; punishment for 3 da

G’morning. So I need to vent a bit. I’ve been out of work and on disability for 14 yrs. Recently I’ve been feeling a lot better & wanted to get back out there. Yesterday was my first & last day. I worked 6-230 and am now in sooo much pain. After I got home yesterday I have had constant spasms and Charlie horses. Didn’t hardly sleep; though I was exhausted. Also! Healthy yesterday but today has a horriblr cough. Idk. I feel like a weak pos and no one understands what its like; except you all. Thanks for letting me rant. I called today and told them I wouldn’t be in… 🙁

@lisa_farley_wray maybe going straight into a full shift after not working for so long was a bit more than your system could handle?

What kind of work is it and is there an option to start off slowly and increase your number of days and hours per shift?

I found it really hard getting back to work after 20 weeks sick leave and started with only 3 hours 1 day, then the next week for 2 days etc then gradually worked up my stamina to 4 days full time. Don’t put the cart before the horse and give yourself a chance to get back into it!

@lisa_farley_wray , I totally agree with @vivien .

You need to pace yourself and find your levels of tolerance. Then build up from there, as your body allows.
