Can you help another Shift MS member?

On Monday May 4th, 2015, I will set off on my bike to visit and write about every onshore and offshore lighthouse in England and Wales.

I will include visits to the Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, Lundy and the Channel Islands. And I will be begging for ferry crossings and fishing fleets to reach the rock lighthouses too!

I have relapsing and remitting multiple sclerosis, and I will be raising money for Shift MS as I go.

Can you help me with accommodation?

I need to keep costs to an absolute minimum, and I am looking for places to stay on or near the coast. Do you live near the sea? Do you know someone who does? Could you put me up for the night?

I may need the use of a washing machine! And I’ll need to recharge my phone and tablet. But I promise to be good company, and I would love to hear your story!

If you think you can help, then please email me direct at
[email protected]

Find out more and follow me:
I will be photographing, blogging and writing about my journey, and the people that I meet and spend time with along the way.

I’m about as far inland as you can get but wish you well and lots of luck with it. Sounds exciting!

Sorry I’m in Essex so too far inland but what a fantastic idea, I love lighthouses.. Portland Bill is a must I guess.. and much easier to get to for a visit 😀 Very best of luck and really hope you find some lovely accommodating MSer’s on your way edthepublisher 🙂

@edthepublisher
Best of luck with your journey, I’ll take a look at the links and donate after pay-day 🙂
I’m not much use on the room / laundry and charging stuff front, there’s a distinct lack of lighthouses in Basingstoke 🙂

Hi Ed

I’d be happy to help! I live in beautiful Dorset (not far from the coast) and will send you an email with more details.

check out a site called couch surfing if you haven’t already. People on there offer a couch, or sometimes a bed, for people to stay a night or two for free. There is another site with a different name…..which I’ve forgot…..but maybe a quick google will find it for you. Good luck! Such an inspirational and interesting thing to do x

Hi @edthepublisher I just looked on your link at your photos…. WOW I never realised there are so many different kind of light houses… some look like “Luna landing craft” :-/ But I like the Red and White striped ones best… Hope you are home safe and sound very soon and well done what a fantastic achievement 🙂 Best wishes, Barbara.
