Campath

Hi, I am currently taking avonex and have had really bad side effects for the last 5 years. I have recently read about Campath and it was saying that it can slow disease progression by c.40-50%. waht does anyone think about this, or has anyone been involved with the trials?

Thanks

Jason

@jasond, you’re probably as clued up as the rest of us :-

We’re now in the wait-and-see phase, whilst the pharmaceutical company works out the “ransom” price for this drug.

There were some trials in Cambridge, which may still be ongoing. This is one story that I found :- http://www.davidscampathstory.org/

And some more detail from Cambridge :- http://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news/new-ms-drug-proves-effective-where-others-have-failed/

I am in my third week after my 5 days of infusions with Campath.

The rash I was warned about on the forth day didn’t amount to much but the fatigue I was told about has now hit home.
