Black Seed Oil for Bladder

Hello from Queensland (been away a while with other health problems.

I’ve been doing some reading and black seed oil seems to be cropping up a lot recently. Has anybody experience of using this for bladder problems It seems that it can be bought over the counter and isn’t very expensive.

Would appreciate any feedback

Thanks

Hi @leighlincoln.

It seems that it has been used for years as a complementary treatment for various conditions :-

stumbler, thanks for the link. Would be good if any of our members who are taking or have tried this would give me some feedback. Seems harmless to me being a vitamin?

Bladder update, I’ve been approved for Botox for my Over Active Bladder which should start in about 2 months depends on hospital waiting lists.

Weather here in sunny Queensland very humid as we are getting a few cyclones.

take care

Pat xx

Botox update. Had Botox 7 weeks ago and I don’t think it’s worked. I’m in so much pain and seem to go from can’t pee to can’t stop peeing. My g.p. has managed to get me an appointment with Urologist next week so fingers crossed.

@leighlincoln , are you able to self-catheterise?

psychologically not. Unfortunately this is my problem and as I suffer with an abnormal number of u.t.i’s I don’t want to risk further infections that I need.
Just told husband that I think I’m having a sofa day today lol. He’s really good and just gets on with what needs doing. I think I ma have done too much yesterday when I met with our local m.s. support group. We are basically a social group that meets twice a month and there were quite a few of us there and it was sensory overload for me. Next week I’m seeing a neurophysio (think that’s right) so hoping for new info there as to what
I should be doing.

@leighlincoln , I thought they would have checked that you could catheterise before giving you the Botox.

The Botox numbs the bladder muscles so that it is difficult for you to release them to pee. Not until your body needs to pee. Hence the need for catheterisation.

I used to suffer from frequent UTIs, but I now take a supplement, D.Mannose, which has been clinically proven to reduce the number of UTIs.

@leighlincoln , this article contains a section on Botox injections :-

https://www.mstrust.org.uk/a-z/bladder-problems

It reads :-

Bladder injection

Where medication hasn’t been effective an injection of botulinum toxin (botox) into the bladder wall is an option. This acts by stopping nerve messages to the bladder muscles and can freeze their contraction. Following this treatment the bladder can’t empty itself and you will then need to use a catheter to empty your bladder.”
