DMDs?

Been offered Rebif, wondering if have done the right thing by saying not yet. Had my first attack last April which am still coming to terms with, had a couple of minor things since. Not against medication, just not sure about it for rest of life? Have three young children and don’t know what to do.

It’s entirely your choice whether you do take DMDs, but I personally couldn’t get treatment quick enough. I know drugs for the rest of your life doesn’t appeal, but you also have MS for the rest of your life, and I think anything that can stave off the effects and keep me active for as long as possible is well worth it.
As my neuro said, DMDs can’t cure you but they may well prevent that attack that would have had really negative effects…….at least I know I’ve done all I can, whatever happens!

Thanks for the comments, I completely understand where you are coming from, and at the moment it’s the uncertainty of all this that is getting to me the most. I really struggle with not knowing what’s coming (and yes I know you never do in life really!) but maybe they would give me more confidence and take some of that away.

Ditto everything that CaptainKristoff said! If there’s anything that can be done to stave off a relapse then I was all for doing it. It’s never possible to fully know whether being relapse-free is the effect of the DMD or the natural course of the disease but I’d rather know that I’m doing everything I can!
