MS Myelin repair
As yet there are no treatments available to repair myelin, the substance that forms a protective sheath over the nerves and which is damaged by the immune system in people with multiple sclerosis. Myelin sheath repair is regarded as a crucial problem to be addressed by MS researchers, because they believe that remyelination could alleviate many of the symptoms that MSers experience. There are numerous studies ongoing to determine how repairing the myelin sheath could help MSers.
