Avonex worries & general rant

So my first injection is on weds, stressed without meaning to be if that makes sense. Anyone want to give me some good tips? I have my pain relief and big water bottle ready! Luckily my boss is okay with everything and doesn't mind if I have to go home. It's at noon, should I eat before I go (normally wouldn't eat till 1 ish)? Should I avoid booze too? (girly get together coming up) I'm sure I will think of more questions when my brain is less frazzled.. I sent my DLA application week before last, even though they say 6-8 weeks I got my reply today of nothing being awarded, even though nearly everything she said I didnt need I do. Its no wonder so many people feel fed up, DWP probably do this to discourage people to appeal, luckily I work in an advice center and know better!

Hi reens, I'm both a newbie to this site and to the Avonex injection. I took my second one this Saturday just been. What worked for me was: take the injection at about 8pm. I took Ibuprofen an hour before hand and then paracetamol before sleep. If you don't mind the horror story of my first one then let me know and I will let you know. But seriously, do not panic, do not rush and just relax as much as possible - all will be fine

Hi @reens Good luck for Wednesday. I can totally understand that stressed out feeling. My first time with Avonex is one week today. I'm resisting it all the way even though I understand it is supposed to be for my long term benefit. I was exactly the same when I started Copaxone and that turned out to be not such a big deal in the end. Even though I know that it doesn't seem to make it any less scary. Sending you positive vibes. All the best.
