Super fun new symptoms!!

Hey guys, So I was diagnosed in January and after recovering mostly from my first noticeable relapse I thought I was doing just fine. In the last month or so I've been having some bowel and bladder problems such as urgency and hesitation etc it's making me scared to leave my house or walk far or go in the car for more than a few minutes! I know it's not the most pleasant topic but it's really getting me down because this is very different to who I used to be I used to travel so far and do so much by myself! If anyone understands or has any tips I'd really appreciate it! 😊

Know exactly how u feel deal with this issue everyday for many years . Sadly i dont deal with it properly and i have had 8 uti's isince january one lasting 5 weeks so only advice i can offer is get an app with urology and try using catheters to make sure bladder emptys properly . Its all a awful leason thats is teaching everyone everyday and you need to try not avoid going out if can as u will isolate yourself and from experience its a sad lonely place to be xxx

Thank you @keld I have a continence nurse who great but they think the physical symptoms have given me severe anxiety which in turn has made symptoms worse so it's shitty cycle of awfulness! Hopefully I will learn to manage it all soon!

I hsd to wait for the hospital and doctors to put two and two together for mri scan and diagnosis after suffering for more than 10-years with my bladder and loads of other stuff but it doesn't really get any easier to be honest it's just a case of learning to live with it , i think we all become soldiers and fight this misery of life with MS xxx

@laurenlucyjane we all feel ya buds. Best advise I can share is make sure you eat the right food to keep your stool tuff And don’t stop drinkin water hahaha. Yes it’s a system you will master in time. At first I was like you always worrying about that. It will pass with only a few mishaps. I laugh about it now thank goodness. Best Jorge

@jamoranto thanks for replying! I think I will get around it and learn to manage, I seem to of tackled the other things this has left me with so I guess it's just another hurdle for the list! Knowing others can manage it helps me alot. I was just in a kind of spiral this evening, not to get too deep on you there.

@laurenlucyjane , it really is a case of "preparing for the worst and hoping for the best!" So, discuss mitigating strategies, e.g. pads, change of underwear. etc., with your continence nurse. You should also be discussing coping strategies, e.g. medications, catheterising, etc.. Once you have some confidence of your control of the problem, the anxiety will start to ease.

You can see it is a common problem with the group ;-( These issues have increased for me in he last few years. I found some of Dr Boster's tips helpful as well as the links provided in other posts of this topic and on the MS Societies links- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC1J7Vq4PKc&list=PL3a4GpjWLtCgODiLl050OeXRhI8t5alke&index=7&t=0s Dr Boster has other videos on the "Down Theres" as he calls the topic on his playlists-
