@joeowens1975 , High Dosage Steroids are a useful treatment to a relapse that is causing major problems, e.g. vision , mobility etc. The way they are intended to work is that they address the inflammation causing the relapse and this allows recovery to commence. It's not an immediate fix, with the benefit being seen gradually over a 6-8 week period. This treatment is a short, sharp shock to the body, so the medical profession wouldn't want to consider Steroids every other month. That is, unless circumstances dictated a different approach.
@joeowens1975, I usually refuse steroids when I have my numerous relapses, but this year I have had 3 lots plus one just prior to my lemtrada infusion!! This year I had no option as the relapses just followed one after another and rolled into one long, continuous one. However, the usual approach is max 3 per year I understand.
