@tessa

I had a very extreme attack with complete paralysis from the waist down for five months when I was 16 . I was given something called ACHT . I completely recovered with NO relapses at all for over 40 years. I don't know what if anything was going on undetected but I certainly didn't have any symptoms or disability .I had two children and lived a totally normal life. Forgot about it. Or thought it must have been a misdiagnosis. A few years ago my right leg began to drag.....I thought getting older, arthritis, perhaps past neurological damage,. My first and only MRI scan ever last year was very inconclusive. But apparently I now after all this time have spms.! I feel I have been very fortunate. But it's a bit of a shock now...like a new illness and the medical profession have not been very helpful so far! This site has been my only means of getting any information . It is brilliant!

@Lozwo

I've had it now 12 years ! Diagnosed at 18... Several relapses which I recovered from. Had my first Bub at 26. Then a relapse when she turned 1. I haven't had one since then and she's now 4 1/2 so it's been a while... I feel like I'm always waiting ???
