Low Fat Diets for Treatment of MS!?

Hi All, I just wondered if anyone is attempting to or is controlling their MS through dietary changes?? I have been reading Roy Laver Swank and Barbara Brewer Dugans book "The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book." The diet essentially encourages you to avoid animal fats, almost no dairy and replace it with healthy and natural oils from fish, nuts and other replacements. Any thoughts or experiences welcome.... Thanks!

There are a fair number of our members that are trying, or have adopted, a specific diet. It can be quiet around here at weekends, but you should get some views fairly shortly and some good advice too.

I've read about it but decided it wasn't for me. Yoghurt is good for my digestion, I'm prone to anaemia if I go for a few weeks without meat, and I'm prediabetic so have had to lower carbs and slightly raise fats. When I was diagnosed, the consultant nurse gave me some tips that seem to be covered by what you're talking about: lower animal fats, increased fish and omega oils, nuts and blueberries. A healthier diet is a good thing to do anyway, particularly if you're already contending with a chronic illness, but it usually involves a bit of trial and error and seeing what works for you. I'm not sure that I believe that diet will control MS, but there are definitely changes that can help.
