Explanation of O

Saw this explanation and thought it was a great way to describe it Ocrevus does not destroy your immune system. Or severely reduce it. It does modify your immune system and as a side effect slightly weaken it. T-cells cause damage to the myelin in the central nervous system. The T-cells got their (bad) instructions from some B-cells. Specifically, from B-cells of a certain age. Ocrevus kills “middle-aged” B-cells (CD-19 and CD-20 type cells) so they can’t give those instructions. The mature “memory” B cells are what keep your immune memory and the immature “naive” cells don’t have any bad info to give. The impact to your immune system generally is that you might be a bit slower to respond to some things, mostly lung infections.
