Disability Benfits

Hi all. I have contacted my local MP re some of the inequities in the governments attempts to save money through penalising disabled people.... He is apparently contacting the MS Society and the MS Trust to find out their take on the issue. I know the MS Society has tried to make some progress in this with limited success I think. He will then contact the disability minister Justin Tomlinson with his findings. He actually called to see me about this..unfortunately I was away. He is however taking this very seriously and I applaud him for that. He will be making an an appointment to visit me later . If anyone has anything they wish me to bring to his attention re this issue please let me know.. It can be completely anonymous if needed. If you want to pm me please do so.
@Stumbler

@tessa , I raised some issues with my MP back in 2013. I have a letter from the then Minister for the Disabled, Esther Mcvey, if you're interested. The majority of the issues are recorded here :- https://shift.ms/forums/topic/dlapip-reassessment-for-uk-readers

That would be really good John....I guess she was anodyne in her response .I know David is involved in trying to get heard in Scotland and seems to have involved press and MP . I think it is well worth trying to get listened to again in 2016 . I am not expecting much though. I am totally for people who can work being helped to do so and am aware that a lot of communities find that hard. The prison I was involved with until recently, as an independent monitor had scores of young men inside who had never worked for a variety of reasons. However when governments are trying to save money through the disabled I find that immoral actually. X
