Neuro App - not what I was expecting

During my previous neurologists appointment we discussed Lemtrada as my first line of treatment. My neurologist was happy to put me forward with the action plan of hitting it hard whilst I'm in the early stages of disease and I'm young. She sent me for another MRI (I've had 3 in the past 18 months) to see how much activity is going on. I saw her this week regarding the results and she said there are no signs of activity and what was there before has now improved and has nearly disappeared. One of the areas they thought was a area of inflammation isn't connected to MS and is a anomaly. She said she would put me more towards the benign MS category but does feel it would be best to start a dmd so that if I relapse she can take me straight off it and forwards for Lemtrada but at this moment in time whilst my ms is on the quiet not to. I'm totally aware Benign MS is something a lot of you feel isn't really true and the MS is still in the body waiting to pounce. So I'm happy to start a dmd. She said it didn't matter whether I chose a interferon or Tecfidera as they are all pretty much the same and if I relapse we shall go for the biggy. I'm now stuck on what to go for. Tecfidera slightly concerns me about the digestive issues as I've had lots in the past. I just can't decide! Help!!!

shopaholic84 , that's a tough call. On the one hand, there is the "benign" MS, but on the other hand, there is the possibility of disease progression that is not picked up by the MRI. So, do you hit it hard now and sign up for monthly blood and urine tests? Or, opt for one of the first line treatments and see what happens next? I don't agree that "Interferon or Tecfidera ...... are all pretty much the same". Tecfidera has a better efficacy than the original CRAB (Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex & Betaferon) drugs. You may want to consider how a DMD will fit into your lifestyle? Do you mind injectables or would you prefer an oral alternative? Maybe time to do a bit of reading :- http://support.mstrust.org.uk/file/MSDecisionsWeb.pdf

I guess I'd go with Tecfidera as I thought it was a stronger dmd. I think her point was if I relapse I'll go straight to Lemtrada so they are all pretty much going to do the same. I'm just unsure about it because of the digestive issues. My work don't know and I don't want to be cut short in the tiniest of staff rooms and 1 toilet!!! ?
