Lumbar puncher...whats your views?

Hi all again!! so much going on in my head...so many questions to ask lol I am still awaiting to go for the dreaded lumbar puncher n to be honest it scares the living shit outta me!! Hate needles with a passion and i keep putting it off but i know it must be done!! The Neuro said he can give me some kind of calmer s to relax me and a local anesthetic for the pain but... What are your thoughts am i getting all worked up over nothing?
@xander

i had one last year and it was nothing i could only feel a slight prod as if someone put there finger in my back i felt the local anesthetic more i did have back pain for a few days after but it wasnt to bad :)

@Stumbler

You're getting worked up over nothing, @sarahek. I had a myelograph back in the 80s (don't think they had MRIs back then!) and that involved a lumbar puncture. which introduced dye into my spinal fluid. Long story short, I have a pronounced bone structure, which caused problems! Well, 10+ years later, they wanted to do a lumbar puncture. I said "over my dead body". They persuaded me on the basis that all the equipment is now finer, due to advances in technlogy. Well, I reluctantly agreed and it went like a breeze. Just follow their instruction, relax and it'll quickly be over.
