My husband helps as much as he can, and he's certainly doing more now that he's finally realised how hard it is for me to do everything round the house. Wow, I've rewritten this post so many times...it's really hard not to bitch about my husband!

My partner has been amazing. He is helping much more around the house, and he is "reigning me in" when I get too stressed or anxious about the future. He is incredibly supportive and just knows when I'm thinking negative stuff. He was great when my eyes and legs were bad, and would come out with me whenever I needed. He's protective of me when my symptoms are bad, and it feels so good. He makes me feel safe. I am, by nature, a fiercely independant person so I too felt needy, but the last few months have made me realise that he is helping cos he loves me, not cos he feels he has to.

Ladies, you think you've got problems. Being an incapable man is a serious threat to my masculinity. My wife is an absolute angel. Well, she's also a qualified nurse. but, she's always out there mowing the lawn, taking out the bins, etc., even though we have a 20 son still at home!

Stumbler

@Stumbler

Sorry, a "20 son"!

Stumbler

@Stumbler

That should be a "20 plus son", but a plus sign is not recognised.........

Haha. A son 20, maybe. Ooops.

My ex was next to useless, I think I embarassed her when we were out and I was on a scooter. Sod her, she thought the grass was greener elsewhere, so I kicked her out. She claimed to care, but reality was different! I've had to cope myself for ages. I will not be a burden to anyone, not for anything. I get on and if I'm tired I rest. My house is spotless for the most part. My girlfriend tells everyone that and says I'm very houseproud. I must be doing ok if that's what she sees.

My experience is very like lillylilly and I know I am extremely lucky. It's still early days for me but during my last relapse he showered me, washed my hair, helped me dress and even do my makeup. He was an absolute star. I was scared about him not being there for a night he had planned as I was getting intense pain in my neck in the night and the only thing that helped it was him massaging it. I felt terrible admitting how worried I was but he was really understanding. I've always been independent so did feel needy.
