Optic Neuritis, Eye Pain Alone?

Just something I'm curious about. I've had optic neuritis before five years ago and I remember the eye pain that accompanied movement quite vividly. Since yesterday I've been experiencing eye pain in the eye that I had optic neuritis in years ago, but no visual changes. Is it possible for optic neuritis to just cause pain without visual changes? I'm wondering if this is some kind of exacerbation caused by the fact I had a fever from my Covid jab over the last day or so. Fingers crossed it's not a relapse (although if it is, honestly hitting that eye again instead of something more vital is probably a blessing.) So my question is: Can optic neuritis cause eye pain with no visual changes?
@Joajoa

I still get pain from old optic neuritis but I would get it checked out to be sure

Hi, I'm sorry you are going through this, i had the same and for 5 years i have been going back because of pain and visual changes and now after 15y I still get the same pain, but stress, bad sleep, tiredness can make you have pain and vision changes, this is one of the common ms symptoms. It will be good if you have it checked to make sure that it's not something to worry about. And make sure you are sleeping well and use device screen less. Wish you all the best!
