Cladribine journey - dose 1 / year 1

Evening all, I started my cladribine journey a few weeks ago and want to share my experience. @Shorty2021 - I read you just started, and I hope this helps you. @ClareEloise and others - many thanks for answering my questions - it helped massively and is why this site is such a great resource. I had ummed and ahed about taking it before bed, but In the end I took my clad in the morning. i felt it made more sense to be awake, in the unlikely event i had a reaction ( i didn't ) So on the first day, still feeling nervous, i popped my 2 pills after a morning walk, and had my breakfast straight after. I drink plenty of water anyway, so i kept to my normal levels but did find it helped to drink a good glassful to wash down the tablets. Overall, I guess i was kind of waiting for something to happen, and in all honesty, it was all very uneventful which was very welcomed At worst, I may have had a mild headache, but i can't say it was related to the medicine, as i sometimes get mild headaches. and i may have felt mild bout of dizziness a few times while on walks, but again, nothing i can point to the meds, 100%. I do feel tired but i work fulltime and walk a fair amount. i know i still have the 2 dose to come in a few weeks, so i am aware that it might be tougher then, but for now, i am just pleased to be on the journey. I was suppose to start in March 2020, but me and my doc delayed it, due to covid.... but better late than never, right?! All the best for those of you also starting the same journey.

The second dose wouldn't be any different than the first. Good start, sending you lots of positive vibes.

@RedMike

Thanks for sharing your Cladribine journey @londonlad, sounds like a good start so far. I am due to move onto Cladribine soon too once my MS nurse gets it all sorted for me. Good luck on the rest of your journey 👍
