Question about numbness

Hi! I am a Newbie both to MS and this Forum. I was diagnosed February 13, 2019 after I had numbness in upper abdomen down through both of my legs and feet. After a week of IV Solumedrol, my leg numbness is gone, although I do get occasional tingles in my legs from time to time. The weirdest thing is, the numbness in my abdomen has stayed, and it's with me constantly. My question is, does anyone else have constant numbness, and is this possibly something that never goes away? I know I have lesions on my brain and a 2 inch lesion on my thoracic spinal cord, i guess that's what's causing it.

Hi laurianne25 Steroids are not a 'quick fix' they are meant to space relapses out and hopefully cut them down. You've had good results with your legs but as a rule it takes 6-8 weeks for the full effect to take place. You may be left with some permanent disability, that unfortunately is the nature of the beast, but give it time, there may be further improvement, and welcome to our exclusive club!🥊👍😜

Hi @laurianne25 , there is always the possibility that we will be left with some residual damage from a relapse. However, the Steroids that you recently received will be working with your body for a period of 6 - 8 weeks, so it may be too early to make judgements about your recovery. So, rest up and see how it goes.
