Pregnancy and meds??

Hi everyone! I was diagnosed on 28th February this year, all the processes had been triggered to discuss and decide on treatment etc. I found out the day before the appointment to agree on treatment that I was pregnant (wahooo!! First baby so so happy) The neuro has recommended copaxone and a more aggressive treatment after birth because my ms appears to be quitr active After a lot of deliberation i have decided that I’m not going to take copaxone, will start medication when my baby arrives. There’s just not enough information available to make me feel comfortable introducing a new drug into our system and know that baby will be safe and well Please can i have your opinions?? X

Hi @katie-rose and welcome. And, also congratulations. There's some details about being pregnant with MS here, which should be useful :- I understand that Copaxone is considered safe to take whilst pregnant, but I respect your decision to not take drugs, as does your Consultant. There is data that suggests that being pregnant does afford you some protection against MS progress. Do what your heart tells you and enjoy being pregnant. Do let us know how it goes and whether you have any other questions?

Just wanted to say congratulations :) xx
