Blue badge

Has anyone applied for a blue badge after diagnosis? I have and my application has been refused because to qualify I need to have a condition that affects someone for “a lifetime” since when wasn’t MS a life long condition or have I missed the announcement of the cure being found 🤬 They have also said that there is not enough medical evidence to issue me a badge… Anyone else had this or is it just my council

@jazminfannon Ask your MS nurse they normally put them straight with letter stating what you are entitled to.

Hi, that’s so frustrating they have said that! Especially as a blue badge has to be reviewed every few years! I applied for mine last year I think I was 26 at the time and just explained my day to day symptoms at their worst and how I needed extra space getting in and out of the car and sometimes use a walking stick/need someone’s help with shopping. I think I also uploaded a random letter I had from my nurse. I didn’t have to have any assessments but I think some councils do assessments. Hopefully that’s helpful for you and please do appeal the decision! I don’t use it all the time now as my symptoms have somewhat improved but it is so helpful on the bad days!
