Plegridy

I’m looking into DMTs and am thinking about Plegridy does anyone have any advice on this as a first DMT? I have to decide by 17th Aug when I’m due to see MS nurse so frightened of all the scary side effects my Neurologist is thinking Cladribine but side effects scare me

@wendyhills , there's a "Plegridy" button that's been added to the bottom of your post above. Selecting this will access all previous conversations regarding Plegridy. You'll need to use the Forum Search function (magnifying glass, top left) to search for "Cladribine", which also has a trade name of "Mavenclad". The Cladribine is the more efficacious option, which avoids the need for regular medication. More details on both these options are available here :- https://www.mstrust.org.uk/about-ms/ms-treatments/ms-decisions-aid

@StrictlySoca

My advice is to pick an effective treatment. Cladirabine is highly effective and without the autoimmune issues for the thyroid of Lemtrada. Plegridy is not a highly effective treatment. I would definitely take cladribine if offered. To be honest I would worry more about the side effects on brain health of MS than the drugs. But then that’s just me.
