Not on Treatment

I was dianosed in 2001 and was started on Betaferon straight after, but had to stop after several years because the sides effects started getting bad. I wasn't offered any alternative after that and my new nueroligist has told me there are no new treatments. I've been drug free since 2010, but it's not been my desicion. I've been surprised my all the treatments I read about on this site, as I'm being repeatedly told by all medical professionals I talk to, that there is nothing they can do for me.

@Numpty , I think you know that your Neurologist isn't quite on the ball about all this. It's either that, or they consider that you're actually now Secondary Progressive, so there are no treatments. Something just doesn't add up! Are you in touch with your MS Nurse, as they may be able to advise on a way forward? Your GP may also be able to help you get a referral to an MS Specialist.

@Stumbler, I've had an odd time with the NHS. I've been moved around alot between Neurologists, once I was told the neurology department at my local hospital had been closed so I'd had to see someone in another town (Now I know it had not). My new neurologist has told me my symptoms are not bad enough for any form of treatment despite my walking getting worse recently with out any relapses. My local MS nurse recently left and a replacement has not been in touch yet.
