Ocrevus

So I have been on Ocrevus for almost two years now, however I wondered if this problem might be due to the infusion or not. My first infusions was in November 2020 and in Dec 2020 I got an abscess that wouldnt go even with antibiotics. It was extremely painful and within a week the hospital had to cut it out. Now my next infusion in May 2021 was fine no problems. However after my Nov 2021 Infusion, in Feb 2022 I had the same problem. I also again had to have surgery to get the abscess removed as the antibiotics was not working. I am prone to abscess as I am a hairy girl (I blame my mum) :D however whenever I have had problems, they would usually go down either by themselves or with antibiotics. With my next infusion within a couple of weeks I am scared I am going to be in the same position within a couple of months. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this? Ps I have discussed this with my MS nurse but she brushed it off and I do know one of the symptoms for Ocrevus is a type of skin infection.

I’m glad I saw your post. I’ve just had my 5th infusion and got around a year and a half get abscess here and there that won’t heal like they used to. I get small cuts that scab and stay that way. I’ve got hibiscrub to wash with and that doesn’t help. It’s got to be ocrevus doing it. I’m prone to abscesses too. Ocrevus seems to help me but at a cost. I’ve thought of changing but it’s such a daunting world.

@MarkC73 Thank you, I felt it was only me. My mum and boyfriend's mum has been saying they believe it is the infusion, so I am not sure what I am going to do. I have my infusion next week and I will closely monitor myself and see if there is anything I can prevent as I will anticipate it happening.
