An interesting diagnosis

I went to my GP for a minor bowel issue (a one-time experience). He had me get an MRI of my lumbar region. He then referred me to a neurosurgeon who immediately introduced the possibility of a lumbar spinal fusion. He requested a CT scan, a bone density test, and a spinal x-ray, which I am presently undergoing. The funny thing is that when I read his notes from my initial visit, he admitted that my case was difficult to diagnose because it presented itself as both a possible lumbar problem AND evidence of PPMS (which I have). I have no back problems, but I have a boatload of PPMS symptoms. I don't see the relevance of his fusion diagnosis. Has anyone else experienced such a thing? I'm just curious if I'm missing something here....
@JMon

my MS was only found after a spinal fusion .... which was needed as I had to lower disc that were dissolved . My MS was never found has I hadn't had a Brain or neck MRI and my neck , from the reports , reads as if that my primpar MS site

Hi @NASCARprof , The skeptic in me wants to say "You must have great insurance, and your GP must know it ... ;-) ) but my inner realist realizes your doctor is likely being cautious. OTOH, I'm surprised they didn't land on neurogenic bowel immediately.
