Deciding on treatment...

Officially diagnosed in Feb 2021. Consultant has suggested I start treatment and I’ve been given 3 options - Copaxone, Tecfidera or Ocrevus. His opinion is that I should go in strong, I’m otherwise young and fairly healthy so try to nip the MS in the bud if possible. But it feels like a huge decision and lots to consider - effectiveness vs side effects and what would fit with my lifestyle etc etc. All a bit overwhelming! Anyway, I’ve found this site helpful already reading through others experiences. So thanks!

@Mudrunner Hi and welcome to club. I've attached a link that might be useful to you. I'm using Tecfidera which after 3 years seems to be doing it's job. No change on MRI which is reassuring. But of I had my choice again knowing what I know I'd choose Ocrevus for want of a better phrase.. you get more bang for your buck. It's very effective. https://mstrust.org.uk/about-ms/ms-treatments/ms-decisions

@Lowlander - yes that’s my thinking, more bang for my buck, so to speak. Have you had any / many side effects on Tecfidera? Pleased to hear it seems to be working for you! I think I’ve pretty well made up my mind but the MS nurse is going to give me a call in the next couple weeks to talk through my options again and let me ask any more questions I have. And I’m due for another MRI. Last one in Nov showed 3 new lesions. If more new lesions I think this would make my decision for me really.
