I am getting fitted for a walker (I think ?) at the end of the month. Can you explain to me what a rollator is please ?
I use a walker indoors. Upstairs at night if I wake and need to use the toilet as have ataxia so is the safest way to get to there in a hurry when I’ve not quite woken and without turning on all the lights and waking the house hold up. I also have a rollator ( four wheel frame thing with a seat) for outside. I use that depending on how my mobility/pain is in the day and what I’m doing. As I have weakness in my arm as well as leg and nueropathic pain ( my left side is rubbish) I use the rollator instead of my crutches if I want to walk but rest my arms. It took me a while to get use to it as I find it’s a different way of walking using a rollator vs crutches. But I will also use a wheelchair if I’m out for a day trip with the family so I can keep up and not get attacked by the fatigue fairy.
