Hello @Kevin444 and welcome. By very strange coincidence, I am 55 too and also on Tecfidera! I was diagnosed four years ago and have been on Tec ever since and no new lesions :-) . Tec is great as it's not invasive in terms of lifestyle and routine. It can initially have gastric side effects, although I never had any. You take it twice daily with a mixture of fat and protein. You will be monitored via a blood/urine test to check your lymphocyte levels. If you're going to do MS/DMD research, never Google; always use sites like this (use the search box to check for other Tec posts) or MS Society. We are all fans of the Dr Aaron Boster Youtube clips, which are really informative and pitched at the right level.
