Are all relapses the same ?

My first relapse that started all my investigations for a diagnoses was due to slurred speech, no balance and no coordination. Are all future relapses going to be the same or will they be different symptoms? The balance and coordination problems I could cope with but the speech problem really got to me :( To the point where I still say HAPPY HIPPOPOTAMUS as soon as I open my eyes in the morning to make sure I’m not slurring. If I get anxious or stressed about anything my speech does still give out a little slur or stutter which is making me think it will be the first thing to be affected again with a relapse

Hello @kazzy73, welcome to Shift. It's really impossible to generalise regarding relapses. Some people experience a recurrence of previous symptoms, and some a new symptom. My first relapse (which led to diagnosis) ended with all the symptoms never going really, like it was permanent damage, although I manage it and don't get so fatigued. But everyone is different; it also depends where the lesions are, all sorts of factors. Sorry to be so vague! Focus on recovering as well as you can, through living healthily and not smoking. It's really important not to stress too, although that might sound impossible! I hope other people will respond with some helpful answers!
