Good lass, there’s a search somewhere to look at posts for people who are on it you will find a few tips too to get you started and so you know what to expect. Jobs a bloody good en.
@Jekmccloskey , Avonex is one of the CRAB (Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex and Betaferon) Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs), the original DMTs that have been around for thirty plus years. They are the least effective DMTs available now. If this is your Neuro's suggestion, they are obviously following the "escalation" philosophy for prescribing DMTs. By this I mean that they start you off on the least effective DMTs, if your MS then progresses, then they consider moving you onto a better DMT. So, you have to accrue MS damage to get on the most effective DMTs. The latest philosophy is to hit MS hard and fast with the most effective DMTs. This would hopefully improve your overall prognosis. So, look at the full range of DMTs and ask for the one you really want. 😉
