New Diagnosis

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed on Tuesday this week. I still need to have a couple more tests but my neurologist is looking to get me started on medication soon. It’s quite daunting knowing what I’m coming up against. I’m a young man who loves nothing more than getting out and about because I live alone. Does anyone have any tips and tricks on looking after myself going forward?

Daunting indeed, DX is often bittersweet almost (well it certainly was for me) but I have to say...you are still a young man,and still love getting out and about. Life is full of ups and downs for pretty much everyone, many of us live well with and despite ms.

Just be yourself, don't lose your jest for life and get on with it. MS doesn't adapt to you but you will. Once you get yourself sorted, start on the right meds - its all about keeping positive and living your life. I got it when I was fresh of college at 24, a bit ups and downs and no forums to talk to on my days. Today, there are more meds, you can access information and talk to everyone on how to manage stuff. So, don't worry. Feel free to DM for any questions you have. It's a good place to start and all the best.
