MRI lesions v symptoms

Hi everyone, hope all having a nice sunny day! So I saw my neuro on Friday and I saw my MRI's! I had one a year ago and it shows severe inflammation (circa 20 lesion but so clumped together it is hard to tell) but ALOT!! So my neuro wanted me to start Lemtrada. I didn't because I am OK?? I have no symptoms but when I saw him on Friday, he was shocked at how well I was coz my MRI tells a completely different story? I started Avonex 3 months ago. Has anyone else got lesions without symptoms? I am gonna have another MRI in 4-6 weeks. The QE at Birmingham has new technology so it will show how large the lesions are give some more detail hopefully. I am now worried because I feel like its a volcano waiting to erupt?x

@geordie57 , I'd take the Neuro's comments seriously. It is possible to amass damage to our Central Nervous System (CNS), without having any conscious symptoms. That doesn't mean it's always going to stay that way! Avonex is one of the original first line treatments and there are now a range of more effective medications, of which Lemtrada is one of the best. The next MRI will be critical for you, as you'll be able to compare it against the old one and see how things are progressing. Have a look at Lemtrada, as this is a five day infusion, then a three day infusion a year later. And that may be all you need. So, no more Hypodermics...............

Thanks @stumbler. I got right down to the briefing with lemtrada and circumstances at home made me pause and start Avonex. I have a 7 and 4 year old and no family around me. If my scan comes back the same or worse then I will go for lemtrada. I couldn’t have tysarbri as my bloods came back high positive for the jcb virus (or whatever it is) . My neuro has never clearly talked through the scan but I’m gonna call nurse tomorrow and have a chat! Thanks for your reply x
