Starting Ocrevus

I've been prescribed Ocrevus and just wanted to know if anybody has experienced reactions from the infusions or can tell me what to expect?
@SJ123

Hi I had no side effects and it went well, no improvement yet. But hopefully it will stop the MS progressing anymore. You might find it difficult sleeping the first night after the infusion and that shall probably be because of the steriods they give you. Take some earphones for music for your phone device. Sweets as you might get a dry mouth during the infusion. Plenty of drinks and lunch. All the best to you. You will be fine. Let us know how it goes.x

I don't know if it's done differently here in the US, but I had a private room with a television, and they provided coffee and snacks. I do recommend taking a large bottled drink and snacks of your own, just in case, along with a book or electronic device. My nurse explained everything she was doing as she went along, and she also advised me as to any problems that might develop and what we'd do about them. She made me feel like I was very much a part of the process. I wound up with hives, a rash over most of my body, pink cheeks, and a sudden sore throat with the feeling that it was closing over. Those aren't unusual, and a quick call to the nurse had her pausing the injection and giving me extra antihistamines. The side effects were gone within seconds and didn't come back. You CAN take potty breaks if you have to. You're going to be thirsty, so you're going to be drinking a lot. I even napped during part of the treatment. I want to say there was a brief burning sensation when the infusion began, but it went away shortly. The steroids kept me wired for about 24 hours, but it's also the first time I'd ever taken any. It was kind of fun, because I just kept dancing in my chair once I got home. I told my kids I was high. The second infusion caused no problems whatsoever and didn't take nearly as long.
