What do you wish that your Doctor had asked you?

I'm increasingly curious - dismayed and thrilled - about people's experiences with their Doctors (Neurologists and GPs). Almost all of us were catapulted into regular contact with the NHS, something many of us didn't expect. Unlike a surgeon who comes in, fixes something with a scalpel and moves on, our Doctors have (or ought to) long term relationships with us. Part of any relationship is communication so I was wondering what people felt about the ongoing interactions they have. These sorts of questions. Nothing formal. - do you think that they 'get' you? - do they understand where you are in things and what you want? - do or have they discussed the future with you and what it may look like? - do you feel that you have any sort of relationship with them? Those kinds of things but really, anything you think is worth sharing then add them to the comments. I recently feel that I am quite detached from my new(ish) neuro and it got me thinking. I wrote something about it on my blog but wanted to focus more on the relationships. I am thinking about writing more about this. My view is one thing, the community view is usually far more interesting! Thanks.

I am seeing my Neuro for the 2nd time on Monday as He is new. Definitely more personable than who he replaced and he does seem to get me.

My neuro is lovely but I think he's stretched thin so hes not very involved outside of diagnosis and treatment decisions. My MS nurse team have all been fantastic I think they do get me to an extent and same with my GP. I think even the best medical professionals can only get you as much as you let them as I have a tendency to insist I'm all good all the time. Such an interesting topic though!
