Chess and MS

Hello! I'm new here, got diagnosed on June this year Does anyone here play chess? I've been playing since childhood but never very seriously. I'm still pretty bad at it, joined my city chess club and I just lose to everyone by far :( I know people with MS have dificulty with focus, making decisions and memory and I feel chess helps with all of those, it's basically exercise for my brain. But I do find it annoying that I can't play as good as people at my chess club. They play speed chess called blitz, usually 3 min for each player, and I find myself just not being able to calculate the moves as fast as they do, I played a good player there on a slow game a couple times, 1h30 per player, and I managed to defeat him both times. They don't know I have MS, and refuse to play me on slow games, they say I need to just play more speed chess or study more, but i just find it hard to be abe to keep up with that. Even when I manage to get a wining position I end up blundering and throwing the game. And the more I play the more fatigued I get the more blunders I make :(

Seems like it’s bringing you stress/sadness instead of fun. It’s your decision not to share your diagnosis and I understand. Maybe there is a different club out there who play more for fun and at lower levels? You could play against me online as well if you’d like, but I am a beginner who knows the rules but no tactics yet. Anyway, I’m sorry for you, it must be tough to experience.

Same as Lisa Marie, happy to play online if it helps. I've played since childhood, but not great and also have difficulty with any speed!
