Plegridy Injection Site reaction

Hi Folks, I've just recently started on Plegridy using the self injecting pen. The 1st injection went brilliantly and there wasn't any major side affects to speak of except a bit of the flu like symptoms in the evenings. I did the injection last Monday, the injection site showed no signs of a reaction until Friday, when it started to swell and go red, which I understand is fairly normal, odd that it didn't happen the day after the injection though! My MS nurse suggested Piriton for the reaction. It's still a big, red, lump on my thigh even though I've had Piriton the last few nights but it's not budging. If it happens again after my 2nd Injection next week then we may have to re-evaluate my meds. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have never used Plegridy but I use to have injection site problems with Rebif. It was just my legs I would have problems with, I would get a infected goose egg lumps on my leg that would take a week to go away. My doctor said that my legs were too muscular so I had to limit my injection sites to my arms and stomach. Potter

Thanks for the reply Potter, that's really interesting as I do a lot of hill walking so that could be reason. Certainly sounds the same anyway. I'll mention it to my MS nurse as I've got my 2nd injection on Monday and I'll try putting it in the stomach this time and see what happens.
