About me

Hi everyone, I'm Carolyn, I married my best friend in March of last year and we have a beautiful little girl together that is about to turn 4 next month. I also received my official diagnosis in July last year as well. When I was diagnosed, I already had 7-8 fair sized lesions, that were making their presence known. My father had been diagnosed, but unfortunately, was not diagnosed in time and his disease progressed rather rapidly. We initially chose Aubagio, and although it was easy enough to keep up with, I did experience side effects. So now I am on Kesimpta, and I have been on it since January. It is working quite well and do not seem to be having any difficulties with it. I am always looking for others with MS to connect with because it can be quite lonely, although my husband is my rock, everyone else only understands the disease so much. It's the invisible side, they forget, which is nice, on good days, but on bad days it's hard to explain to them.

Welcome, Carolyn :) I was diagnosed this January with 8 lesions in my brain and one active one in my spine. I am very sorry to hear about your dad. Everyone has been so kind and this group has been a great source of support for me. I am happy to be the first to circle the wagons and welcome you to our community. Please keep us posted on your progress. Kesimpta is a newer medication and just recently approved for us in Canada so it would be great to hear your experience!

@Dx24012021 Thank you! Kesimpta is new, and that was one thing that made us nervous, but there were fewer known side effects with Kesimpta, and after my experience with Aubagio that was a relief.
