So on the 16th May 2022 I developed sudden onset of pins and needles in my left hand and forearm for 30 mins this then went away but my arm felt heavy and dead for the rest of the day and my left leg started to feel strange. This persisted for a week ending with complete lack of balance multiple falls and slurred speech and blurred vision. Was taken to a+e and after waiting 8 hours was sent home after being told it was because I was overweight ( fyi I’m a size 18 as I’m still carrying baby weight have a 1year old) and need to exercise and just walk it off. I was taken back to a+e the next day as symptoms had got worse and fallen again. This time they did a ct and said well it’s not a bleed so go home. I phoned my gp surgery for a sick note and they wanted to see me face to face they weren’t happy with my symptoms so referred my back to a+e. This time an on duty nuerologist looked at my ct and said he wasn’t happy with some easily missed signs so ordered an mri after a week in hospital finally got mri which showed active lesions of demyelination on the cerebellum which states on the report is consistent with MS. I had a lumber puncture and still awaiting results. But no one will give me a diagnosis keep being told a nuerologist will see me. I’ve had no appointment, no contact, they kept me in hospital for 6 weeks gave my physio to stop me falling and have sent me home. I don’t know what’s happening. Will this get better or is the poor coordination in my arm and leg going to stay. Will I be able to drive again? How do I let the dvla know what’s happening if I don’t know? What do I tell work? I have many questions but am struggling to process thoughts and information when will that get better. Am I going to have to retire? Sorry this probably doesn’t make much sense or spelt correctly. Apparently I have lost proprioception on my left side. I’m a bit better than the end of May but I guess that it at least explains why my knee gives way when standing and I have intention tremors in arm and occasionally in leg.
